Golden Chocobo
The rarest card is the serialized Golden Chocobo, numbered from 1 to 77 and found only in English Collector Boosters. There are also colourful chocobo neon-ink foils in pink, green, yellow and blue (English), and a black chocobo printed only in Japanese.
Through the Ages reprints
Some of the most valuable cards are Through the Ages reprints. In November 2025, Stay with Me (Rhystic Study) and Dragon of Mount Gulg (Ancient Copper Dragon) led the regular versions. Other popular ones include Sephiroth, the Savior (Atraxa), Zidane Tribal (Ragavan), Blessing of the Oracle (Akroma’s Will) and Terra Branford (Urza, Lord High Artificer).
Main-set favourites
Popular main-set cards include the Buster Sword (a mythic), Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER, Vivi Ornitier, Cloud, Midgar Mercenary, Summon: Bahamut and Traveling Chocobo. From the Commander cards, Kefka Palazzo, Tidus, Zanarkand Fayth and Kefka’s Tower are standouts.

Why MTG Final Fantasy was so popular
Final Fantasy has one of the biggest fanbases in gaming, and MTG Final Fantasy gave every era of the series a place in one set. Fans of the classic games got Terra, Celes and Garland, while fans of the later games got Cloud, Tifa, Tidus, Yuna and the Final Fantasy XIV heroes. The Through the Ages reprints also made the set exciting for Commander players, since they turn powerful staples into Final Fantasy cards.
The result was a set that appealed to Magic players and Final Fantasy fans alike.
