Riftbound Origins

Riftbound Origins was the first set. It launched in China on August 1, 2025, and in English on October 31, 2025. It has 298 numbered cards, or 352 counting the 54 Overnumbered and Signature cards, and it introduced 12 champions, including Jinx, Yasuo and Teemo.

The top card is the Signature Ahri, “Nine-tailed Fox”. Origins also came with Champion Decks for Jinx, Viktor and Lee Sin, and a starter box, Origins: Proving Grounds, with Annie, Garen, Lux and Master Yi decks for 2 to 4 players.

The themes were equippable weapons, gold tokens and new ways to play all six Domains. Champions include Irelia, Ezreal, Lucian, Fiora and Rumble, and the Champion Decks were Rumble and Fiora. See the Riftbound Spiritforged booster box.

Riftbound Unleashed

Riftbound Unleashed was the third set, released in English on May 8, 2026, with Pre-Rift events from May 1 to 7. According to the official Unleashed dates and details, it has more than 220 cards, more than 30 alternate arts and more than 30 Showcase cards.

New mechanics included XP, Hunt, Ambush and Token Battlefields. It also introduced a new top rarity, Ultimate, with an overnumbered Baron Nashor as the first Ultimate card. The Champion Decks were Vi and Vex, and a new product, the Vault, arrived with 6 boosters, 36 basic runes, 3 double-sided full-art tokens and storage. See the Riftbound Unleashed booster box.

Riftbound Vendetta

Riftbound Vendetta was the fourth set, released on July 31, 2026, and the first to launch on the same day in English and Simplified Chinese. It has more than 160 cards, more than 50 Showcase cards and nine Champion Legends, including Nasus, Renekton, Akali, Mel, Ambessa, Zed and Shen.

The theme is rivalry, with the first enemy Domain pairings: Fury with Calm, Mind with Body, and Chaos with Order. Vendetta also replaced Champion Decks with Showdown Decks, starting with Zed vs Shen, a box with two 56-card decks, 2 boosters and playmats. See the Riftbound Vendetta booster box.

Riftbound Radiance

Radiance is the fifth and current set, released on October 23, 2026, with Pre-Rift events from October 16 to 22. Its theme is “Own the Stage”, and it has 167 cards, 61 of them Showcase cards. New Legends include Seraphine, Ziggs, Jarvan IV, Ekko and Evelynn, and the Showdown Deck is Seraphine vs Evelynn. A new Ultimate Rare is planned but had not been revealed at the time of the announcement. See the official products and sets update.

How the game has changed

In its first year, the game changed quite a bit. The first sets came with Champion Decks for single champions, and from the fourth set onwards these were replaced by Showdown Decks, which put two rival champions in one box so two people can play straight away. The Vault arrived as a new product with boosters, basic runes and storage. The Ultimate rarity raised the bar for chase cards, and same-day English and Chinese releases meant English players no longer had to wait months for new cards.

More change is coming. With Legacy in 2027, packs will switch to 6 Commons plus a dedicated Legend or Battlefield slot, so every pack will include one of those key card types.

Pre-Rift events

Each new set starts with Pre-Rift events at local game stores, a week before the full release. The Pre-Rift Player Kit includes a 15-card mini deck, 5 boosters and 1 promo card, so you can build a deck on the day and play with the newest cards before anyone else. It is a fun way to meet other players and try a set before you buy a box.

Collecting across sets

Many collectors follow one champion across all Riftbound sets, picking up each new version, alternate art and Showcase card. Others focus on the top chase cards from each set, like the Origins Signature Ahri or the Unleashed Ultimate Baron Nashor. Because there is no rotation planned before 2028, older sets stay popular with players too.
